By the Fire....

Didn't realize that it had been so long since my last post...  still having to use drops in my eyes 4 times a day which doesn't make crafting very easy....
I found some pre coloured images which I have used to make a couple of Christmas cards (for next year) this being one of them, they were from LOTV...

This postal strike is playing havoc with deliveries isn't it.... thankfully all my ones for Christmas have arrived...some of my posted Christmas cards still haven't reached their destination and that was 10 days ago....

Hope you are all managing to keep warm...I all I can say it 'thank goodness for thermals"...

Sorry for not visiting your blogs lately hopefully in the next couple of days I will catch up with you all

Foxy Christmas....

Yesterday I was supposed to be doing my yearly craft fair in our local village hall but unfortunately last week I was diagnosed with shingles so couldn't attend..  I had made up packs of Christmas cards to sell this being one of the packs.... The picture isn't good as its taken through cellophane...  just a simple little card using Card-io Holly Hideaway stamp set....

Need to start on my own Christmas cards now...doesn't seem like Christmas is only a month away now...

Thank for stopping by..

Bauble Stencil....

Not posting much at the moment as I have an eye problem which is with medication is making my sight very blurred...so its easy craftying at the moment.
I have a craft fair next weekend so I've been making some simple Christmas cards..I've had this Sweet Poppy bauble stencil for ages  but then spotted Eileen Godwin using it in a tutorial so pulled it out (thanks for the inspiration Eileen) ...I've used Speckled Egg and scattered straw Distress inks, the image and sentiment are from Inkylicious called 'Winter Cabin'... I have put some glitter on the card but its very subtle so might just add a little big more.
Thanks for stopping by

Winter scene .

Haven't used my Card io stamps for a long time..there has been so much inspiration on the Craft with Card io Facebook page I was inspired to get my stamps out...I must confess I fell in love with those little meeces so I bought the Water's Edge stamp set....The sky was a tutorial by the brilliant Lainey J....I didn't have the same ink pads but was quite happy the way it turned out...
Do go onto Card io facebook page and have a look, there are so many talented ladies out there..

Anniversary.....

Another Anniversary card, this time I've used Mo Mannings Tom & Tilly digi image which I've coloured with Copics... trying to use up more background papers I have in my stash.....

I suppose its time to start thinking about the 'dreaded' Christmas cards....mine will be very simple this year as the postage has gone up yet again...

Have a good weekend whatever you're doing...

'Hand Penned' Birthday....

It's so nice to have the cooler weather...its been so hot... there was no way I could sit in my craftroom as it faces South...anyway we shouldn't complain the garden's are in great need of any rain so any is very welcome.

Back to my card....found some unused bits in my 'bit box' including and image from the SU set Hand Penned and I had enough other 'bits' to make up a card...

Hope you all have a great weekend...I don't envy those stuck at Dover....it's 'ourgate' for us through the summer holiday's...

'Thinking of you'.....

It's been a while since I last posted.....My craftroom faces South and it is  really is too hot to craft but have been playing with some new stamps and dies....S.U. Horizon and Ocean Sea front.    It's been a very frustrating day and lots of cards have gone in the bin....was going to give up and call it a day.....
No body likes waste so I pulled a card from the bin and this is what I came up with....   Butterflies cover a multitude of sins on a card but couldn't use one of this card hence the little cats.....  I do like playing with inks but sometimes ink just appears where you don't want it...  Time for a cup of tea I think....     Hope you are all taking care in this heat...

thanks for popping by..

Anniversary Fun....

Just loved this stamp from Crafty Individuals called 'Waiting for their next Adventure'...I do like to make fun anniversary cards and thought this stamp was ideal.
I've used SU Horizon DSP paper, stamped the trees, birds and die cut the grass from SU On the Horizon stamp set.

Its very muggy today and they do threaten thunderstorms....we do need something just to clear the air.
Thanks for stopping by

Noof & friends...

Monday I had a play with some of my Lavinia stamps...Noof, Tilly & Tango.
Noof is quite a large stamp and I ended up putting him on a 7 x 7 card.....
The background is one of Lavinia pre printed ones.... I coloured Noof with pencils..   I just love the expression on Noof's face and he looks like he's enjoying being stroked by Tilly & Tango...

Time to have a tidy up my desk...I just hate working in a small confined space...

Have a good day whatever you are up to

Cheese & wine....

Hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday weekend...we've lots going off in our village....
We've also got a Wine Circle club in the village and any cards I make with wine on sells very quickly when I do my craft fair.... This image I found in my image box and it actually a napkin...mounted onto card covered and  with modge podge....you get a lovely textures using Napkins on anything...glass, wood pottery etc....you just need to strip away the layers and just use the top layer.

Thought you might like to see what our Parish council have done on our small village  green to celebrate the 70th Jubilee.....

This is a little place where we can sit and chat

Well done East Coker..

Lots going off  on our Recreation ground today, tomorrow and Sunday..... fingers crossed the Sunday picnic can go ahead....

thanks for passing by......Anne

I have returned.......Gardeners shed...

It' been a few weeks since my last post.....hubby and I had manged to stay clear of the dreaded Covid for over two years and then wallop!
I spent 3 days in bed and was quite poorly but hubby wasn't too bad..   Kept testing and eventually after 12 days we were negative....
Luckily we had booked a few days holiday on the south coast and thankfully we were able to go.   We were so lucky with the weather wall to wall sunshine...Lots of walking along the prom, caught up with family but generally just chilled out..  Like most people who have had Covid we've both felt very tired.....

Anyway back to my card...it's my brothers birthday on Tuesday and I made him a similar card as both he and his wife love gardening and he loves his shed.  I've got several garden related dies so have combined  some to produce my card..  Like a lot of us I always cut too many bits out so have used some of the  'leftovers' to make another card....left a sentiment off for the time being..

What a beautiful day today...we've had our grandson and partner over for lunch which was lovely and spent some time afterwards sat in the garden in the sunshine...

Hopefully I will catch up with your blogs sometime this week...

Thanks for stopping by

Gardeners card....

Our neighbour went in to hospital for a knee replacement this morning, he's a keen gardener so made him this card. I've used a recycled image as he oftern sits with his white hat on in his garden chair.
He's hopefully coming home tomorrow.

Its a beautiful day today here in Somerset but not sure if it will last over the weekend...

Fishing trip anyone.?

Just trying to make a few male cards, you know those 'difficult' ones!

This image is from Delicious Doodles...I've made a few of these cards in the past and they have been very popular...just added a couple of embellishments...

The weather for the moment is still holding out just hope it stays that way for the weekend when we are looking after our grandchildren.

Take care

Thinking of You.....

Hello....sorry for the long gap inbetween posts but its been a stressful 3 weeks or so.  I had another fall which has meant going to A&E 3 times a week to have a wound dressed...the injury is on my right arm so that hasn't been easy and its been painful....yes I know I should take more water with it!
Then I broke a tooth and spent two days visiting the dentist....

We've also after 40 years given up caravanning.....I know its the right time to stop as we're both getting older, my hubby suffers from arthitis and things take a lot longer to do and its painful... its been a brilliant 40years we've visited different countries and also seen lots of England which we probably wouldn't have seen had we not had our caravan....anyway a new chapter starts...

I have managed to put a card together for a friend who's not well....I've  kept the Spring colours as the little PB hedgie is holding a daffodil....

Hopefully over Easter I might get some cards made, although there's lots of things to do in the garden...

Hope you all have a lovely Easter and hope that at least the weather will be dry.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by

Water Lily Skiing...

An old wooden but lovely PB stamp stamp  which goes back to 2001...its called Water Lily skiing. coloured with pencils and popped onto an embossed butterfly background... Used one of my tiny Dragonfly embellishments ( I have lots of these from when they were in 'fashion' years ago).
Kept it very simple.

Well what fabulous weather we are having, you really do have to make the most of it...the gardens centre's have been so busy, Spring is my favourite time of the year when the garden and tubs come alive with colour, it much too nice to be in the craft room.... enjoy the sunshine..

Embroidered Horse...

I'm still around but haven't  been making many cards recently as I've been knitting and crocheting....I knit blankets and hats for premature babies this also gets rid of some of my mountain of wool..

Having a clear out of a sewing box I came across a few embroidered images which I have have for years.  Rather than send them all  to Charity I  have kept a couple which I will use to make cards with the Horse design being one of them.
I found this dotty embossed background in my scrap box which I have coloured with to blend in with the ivy leaves and card....

Thank you for stopping by on this chilly afternoon...

40th Birthday...

Another masculine card this time a commissioned 40th....I just love the Hunky-dory pre printed images for men...made a small map book and added as an embellishment...stuck the 40th onto a squashed bottle top....

We were very lucky during the storm only lots  few ridge tiles which came down with such force a couple were stuck in the lawn like arrows....thankfully they were from the back of the house and not on the main roof....hopefully being replaced next week...weather permitting...
Hopefully you were all safe and didn't have much damage during the awful winds..
It's a bit windy here today and raining...best place in your craft room..

thanks for stopping by
