The first thing we did was to make a simple drawstring bag and we cut out flower shapes of fabric with a couple of my craft dies and this was the result.
All I've done is to actually cut the fabric out for her....
Grace then decided she would like to have a go at simple quilting so we found some scraps of fabric, Grace decided on the design and away she went...all I did on this piece of work was to tack the binding on for her as she kept pricking her finger on the sharp pins!
Its all Grace's own work, ok a little wobble on the binding edge but as you can see she was so happy with her quilt....I think Father Christmas might just bring her a sewing box with some fabric in.... I think its such a joy that she wants to learn to sew and knit, my mum taught me when I was very young which enabled me to make my daughters clothes.
Thanks for stopping by ...
Anne

Hi Anne, popping in before I say goodnight and I am glad I did, so cute is Grace and her quilting, very well done. It is good for her to be keen to sew, I was self taught and ended up making wedding dresses, veils and the posies...she looks so happy.xx [aNNie]
Well done Grace, you have done a great job on your sewing projects. Christine xx
It is great when young people want to learn skills like this - sewing will always come in so useful as she gets older and if she enjoys it so much the better. She's done a great job.
Grace you are a star. Love seeing raw talent coming to the front. You are one talented young lady. Looking forward to see what you get up to next. Hugs Rita xxxx
How rewarding Anne to pass your skills on to Grace, what a little star x
Sounds like you had a lovely day with Grace and she looked extremely happy with her makes - we have an Anysia Grace, but she's a bit too old to play with Granny anymore, but quite happy to go out on a hack with me !

Well Anne, young Grace is a real credit to you and obviously has a talent for sewing to have made such a great job of these two projects. It must be so satisfying to be able to pass on your knowledge to her. x
Beautiful crafty projects Miss Grace. You have a wonderful teacher & how fun to learn something as useful as sewing. I expect to see many more creations in the future. Good job !!!
GREAT JOB, Grace! Wonderful seeing her learn something she is so interested in and will be so very useful in the years to come! Her work is beautiful for her age and I LOVE her beautiful smile!!! If I could do this at her age, I would be very proud also! How blessed you are to be able to teach her!

I have only one granddaughter but she makes things for 2 minutes and then it,s over again, if you know what i mean.
Your granddaughter is very pretty and you must be so proud.
Till next time and hugs from Anneke
Oh, how fun to catch up with you, Anne! So many beautiful cards to see at once, but I do apologize for being a bad visitor! I especially loved this post about Grace and the photos! Great beginning quilt! (That's more quilting than I've ever done in my life!) I can just hear the joy in your words describing the fun you had with her. Brought a tear because I love to see traditions being passed on! Enjoy all the future times you will have with adorable Grace!! Hugs, Darnell
