Stampin Up Christmas Extravaganza Day.....

What a fabulous day we had yesterday with the lovely Jenny Moors of Stamping Moments....Jenny had some brilliant projects for us to make and here's what we  did...
We  made a  fabulous box using the new Box Making board...of course I just have to have one of these!....loved our gorgous star card which we stamped and punched out the borders....and then we made an amazing Christmas bauble ....
The stamp set we were given to use was Festival of Trees....and we made these fabulous cards to start with...just love the sentiment dies and the pretty snowflakes.

We then had a choice of making a Star book or making single cards I decided to make the single cards and made them from the bits we were given....sadly time ran out and I did't get time to make my Christmas tags and I have also got one more Christmas card to make to complete my set..

It's a such fun day crafting together and once again we had a 'full house' 36 ladies...The work Jenny puts in to our Extravaganza days is amazing she works so hard not only preparing every thing for us to make but  we also had 3 tables full of card samples and projects that she had made from other Stampin Up products....needless to say my 'wish list' has grown and grown....Thank you Jenny from all of the Crafty Bunch girls...

I shall be missing for a couple of weeks as the grandchildren arrive and I have a busy week next week and not a lot to time to craft.

Faux Mother of Pearl Technique......

Our second project we did on our Club night last week was the Faux Mother of Pearl technique which I saw on Loll Thompsons Blog....this is the link to her Tutorial  Faux Mother of pearl
A lovely technique where you splodge Pearl acrylic paint ( I used Hobbycraft Colout it pearlised paint found in the childrens section) on your card let it dry then apply water based inks colour of your choice then buff it up....you get the most amazing backgrounds..I did use a very slightly damp paper towel to buff up my  card which seemed to enhance the pearly background..

This card I've used just green and red ink added a Cheery Lynne swirl, the poinsettia I won from Loll last year...ribbon is from Stampin Up, sentiment All Occason dies..
This card is better in real life, I've used blues and mauves and added a topper, lace border is cheery Lynne, Corner Whimsy
For my background on this card I've used two different green inks pads, the pearly effect hasn't photographed well on this card... I've used All Occasion dies pine set to make my wreath without the pines cones! S.U. embossing folder, Martha Stewart holly punch and Sue Wilson petite bow....
Hope you do try this technique as you can make some stunning backgrounds...

We have lovely sunshine in Somerset this morning but there is a nip in the air...

Club night...Napkin project..

On our club night last Weds one of the projects we did was using napkin/serviettes and making them into cards....we did two different methods one using Mod Podge and the other using cling flim....
For my owl card I used Mod Podge, I used a piece of sticky back paper and stuck my single layer serviette to it then applied one coat of Mod Podge all over....napkins/serviettes make lovely cards and there are some beautiful ones around.
To embellish my owl I used some backing paper from my stash, embossing folder and cut out two leaves from a little die, made some tiny flowers, added a sentiment and you have a lovely card.
For this card I also used Mod Podge, cut 3 stems from my Memory Box Chole die, Stampin Up butterfly stamped onto coloured card then I've painted them with bleach to give to lighter colours......
This card was made using the cling film method....take a piece of card lay it down  add a piece of cling film on the top then place your one layer napkin on top of your cling film and on top of that place a scrap piece of paper, you then get an iron (not steam) we used a travel iron to 'iron' on the top this then melts the cling film and sticks your napkin to your base layer of card....it gives a lovely smooth almost velet like finish...as opposed to the Mod Podge which give a lovely textured feel...heres a UTUBE link Cling and Napkins

I just added a button face, punched a small border with  and added some co-ordinating ribbon....

Will show the other project we did later in the week...

Birthday card....

Not a lot of time for crafting this week as I am helping my daughter who has her own cake business,  she has a big Charity event on Friday so have lots of cakes, flowers and toppers to make, I did sugarcraft for over 20 years but things have changed so much just like cards styles change and things go in and out of fashion but I still enjoy it..

This is a card a made about 3 weeks ago using the solid die from the SU Filigree Poinsettia set to make my flower....all the dies I've used are SW ones, the butterfly Martha Stewart and sentiment from Stampin Up.....its a very pale card and looks much nicer in the flesh....

The weather is horrible today cold, wet and windy....but we cant complain can we..

Quick card..

Very quick card one layer card this morning using some of my new scene builder stamps from Card-io that I bought at Westpoint, they are ideal for posting flat Christmas cards and are so quick to make....need to practice on prospective though!

Off to patchwork later...
