Last post for a week or so.......

The Grandchildren arrived yesterday so for the next week or so we are spending time with them so the craft room will be redundant for a while.

I managed to finish off making this very quick card yesterday using one of the beautiful flower images from one of the LOTV Art Pads....just added a little bit of glitter to the flower heads...
Backing paper is also from LOTV....corner die from Whimsy and I just love the new petite bow from Sue Wilson.

My craft room looks all neat and tidy now that everythings back in its right place...its not normal is it??   ..lOl...lOl

Catch up with you all soon

Pixies-snippets-playground-week-134

Another week flown by and another Pixie's Snippes Playground...

Do you have coloured card in your stash that you just dont like and it rarely gets used?  Well I've actually used some on my Snippets card its the rusty colour.  The image is a pre-coloured LOTV one called 'A lick of Paint' but I've changed some of the colours to tone in with my snippets of card....two strips of 'Hessian' embossing, I cut the Hessian ribbon in half as I only had a small piece left so what you see is all I had! Corners and the star are all Stampin Up punches..
We've got a lovely day here in Somerset after the awful thunder, lightening and rain yesterday...just hope it stays fine for the childrens summer holidays...

Pixie Snippets challenge week 133..

Another week has flown by and I know I've missed a couple of the Snippets weekly challenges but this week I have a card I can use..

The triangles are cut from card left over after making a box, the Triangles dies are from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Gold elements one, sentiment is from a Justrite Vintage labels 4....the centre die is from Spellbinders A2 Filgree Delight...

The school children are breaking up this week so I wont have a lot of crafting time after this week as I shall be spending time with them all...but will pop in and out when I can...

The weather has been beautiful this week and long may it continue although we did have some rain yesterday which was lovely as it cleared the muggy air...

I've not got around to all my blogging friends this week as life has been a bit hectic but I will try and catch up with you all...

Shaving foam and Alcohol inks techniques..

Its our club night tonight and the two of the techniques we are doing is using alcohol inks and shaving foam...

For this card I've used shaving foam, Stampin Up re-inkers (you can also use distress inks) and just ordinary white non coated card..   I've embossed it to give it some texture...all the girls will get the die cut swirl and the Sue Wilson quilled flowers...so it will be interesting to see all the different colours and patterns the produce.  I've kept my colours quite soft...
The Happy Birthday sentiment are Britannia dies....

My 2nd card has the Adirondack Alcohol ink background which is quite vibrant but looks so different from the shaving foam, the effects you can get with alcohol inks are amazing, using glossy card  and Adirondack:  Bottle, Caramel and Butterscotch,  also added some blending solution to give it that 'bubble' effect...

I will have more photos to show you of the other project  which is using die cuts and flowers only on the front of cards...

We've been back to the 1940's.....

We've been back to the 1940's again...had a brilliant weekend on the Severn Valley Railway a week ago and thought you might like to see some photos'

Who remembers kitchens like these....notice the iron plugged into the light socket..my mum didn't have an ironing board she used to iron on our kitchen table  with a blanket on the top....

A 1940's sitting room...all looks very cosy and it was with the open fire...
We even attended a Wedding...the brides outfit is just like my mum  wore on her wedding day...the cake on the table was of course made of cardboard and   when they 'lifted' the cake up there was a little sponge cake underneath.....

Two lovely ladies I met and we had a great laugh...everyone is so friendly and I suppose its because we are all dressing up and having such fun.....

Dinking a glass of bubbly at the wedding.... think the backpack spoils the photo!
Andy got 'arrested' by one of the American MP's for trying to sell his backmarket stuff....his case is full of stockings...cigarettes and in his jacket he has watches and more nylons...

A 'spiv' trying to sell me a pair of red knickers....I did tell him they were a little too 'big'...lOl...lOl....

He really was a lovely MP and finally let Andy 'go'....
Its so  much fun doing these 1940's weekends and of course there is music on most of the railway stations which gives it such a fabulous atmosphere...

Hope I haven't bored you all .. ..I will be back with a card on Weds....

Biker Boy.....

This is another scheduled post so hope it works!

Here is another card showing the letter press technique this time the background is inked.
I've used a Kenny K image, added a few cog die cuts and used a Cuttlebug embossing folder...
