Club night...Playing with paperbacks...

Tonight we did something different  in our craft club instead of making cards  we made angels and Christmas trees from old paper backs...and some used old Magazines...

For these projects all need it 150 pages and if you have a thicker paperback you should be able to make both an Angel and a Christmas Tree.

First the ladies painted the polystrene balls in either white or gold...I actually sprayed mine after giving it coat of white Acrylic paint, if you spray straight onto the ball then a lot of spray paints actually eat into the polystyrene ball so you need a coat of Acrylic paint first.
After folding the pages I then used a glitter spray straight onto the the paper back pages...I just added a small ruff around the neck of my angels, one I used a page from the book the other I gathered a piece of ribbon.
If you would like to have a go here is the link for the instructions Paperback Angels

Hi Anne. These are amazing!! So creative and to use an old book - now that is recycling at it's best! :) Loll xx

Both of these are so effective Anne and what great recycling - or is it up-cycling, I am never sure which is which.

Great fun projects Anne, not sure my tatty paperbacks could be used and I would need to learn some patience to do all the folding. Love what you have achieved though. xx Flora
