I was hoping to be able to post cards from our club project for this month but some lovely people have stolen the heating oil from our village hall ...so no heating at all in the hall and its certainly far too cold to sit and craft. Our village has no gas in it at all so oil is our only means of heating apart from electric.... ...is .nothing is safe any more??
One of the project for this months club was making backgrounds using the acetate, tissue and alcohol ink technique so thought I would post a card as a taster and we will now do this project for ur May meeting.
Stamp used is 'Pleasant Poppies' from Stampin Up....Alcohol ink colours used for the backing are Lettuce, Red Pepper & Willow.. For the butterflies I've used the Stampin Up butterfly die and used a piece of card from the backing acetate.. Old Olive ribbon.....

Oh! My! Goodness! stealing oil, these people would steal the sugar from your coffee if the got the chance. I know what I would do with them.........!!!
Your Poppy card is stunning I love what you have done with the image and that fantastic backing paper is just beautiful.

The thieving beggars Anne - we're also oil only as there's no gas at all up our lane where we live currently - so I know how cold a place can get without any heat at all. What kind of a society we're living in I do not know - I mean heating oil from a Village Hall????
Bears out what I think in that many people have been brought up to have no thought/respect/consideration for anyone else and if they want something they just take it.. and before anyone says anything this is not down to Mrs Thatcher - it's down to the thieving moron's own moral standards which are obviously in the gutter.
Love the card by the way (now my rant is over!!) x
Oh Anne thats aweful maybe next week you'll be back again and creating gorgeous creations like this one here its absolutely stunning x
Isn't it amazing just how low some people will stoop - absolutely nothing is safe nowadays.
Beautiful card Anne. Love the backing paper and the gorgeous poppies.
Oh wow Anne that is just gorgeous I love poppies and youve created a stunning card with them. hugs Shirleyxxxx
Oh Anne that's awful but I know it's happening mroe and more - my friend who lives in the country has had their oil stolen from their house a couple of times - I guess its cos the price has gone up so much its now worth the hassle of stealing it and selling it on.
Your card is beautiful and I'm sure everyone will love making it next month - hope its warmer by then!

Your alcohol inked background looks fabulous, Anne. I love your pretty poppies, too. Such a really lovely card.
Sorry to hear about the theft of heating oil from your village hall. Whoever stole it must be desperate. But they obviously don't have any scruples xx
I've seen this card for real and it is beautiful and the alcohol ink and acetate is brilliant. shame about the club being called off.
Beautiful card Anne. It unbelievable what some people will do. Sorry to hear your club had to be cancelled. Hugs Rita xx
Beautiful card Anne, lovely image, and a fab design. Shame about your local village hall theft, they really don't think about the wider community.

What a beautiful card Anne I'd forgotten about that fab technique! How awful that someone stole your oil and ruined your craft evening:( You should enter this card into the Make My Monday challenge which is making your own background:)

I think its so wrong, and can't help but think more of these sort of things will happen, people these days think its ok to steal what they don't have. Anyway back to your card,I love the poppies, the papers and the ribbon.
I hope you don't have to many of your meetings.

Beautiful card!!!Love the background, how do you use tissue and all?lol,Sorry to hear someone borrowed your heating oil...
First of all - love this card - the background looks wonderful and the poppies are just fab.
Second - it's awful to read that the oil has been stolen - I seem to remember that something similar happened a few years ago to a village near us in Wales.
Hope the weather improves soon!
