This is the first challenge for St Lukes charity card challenge 2012 and as the heading says our challenge is New Year, New Start which means you can give something that might be destined for the bin a new lease of life...
For my 'New Life' I've used some sparkly wrapping paper for the background, it so sparkly that it wasn't easy to photograph! The bow came off a Christmas Cracker which I iron and then remade another bow. The flowers on the card I recycled from an old card and just added a new pearl brad centre. Other items I have used on my card are SU embossing folder and M.S Punch.
The stamp I used is and LB Design stamp which I have coloured with Copic pens.
Our Sponsor this month is 'The Ribbon Girl' and the prize is this wonderful Yellow Girl Ribbon Kit
So come crafters get your mojo's working and show us what you can do....just remember you have to 'be in it to win it'..
Also pop over to St Lukes Charity card challenge see what the other members of our design team have come up.

What a beautiful card, Anne. And such a great idea to give all those items a new lease of life. I love the stamp you used:)
This is just wonderful Anne - the wrapping paper and colours you chose complement the 20's style stamp so well - it has a very deco feel.

Brillant card Anne - really stylish. As soon as I've finished my sample cards I will join in.
Wow - Anne, this is such an elegant card. Love the paper and super image too!
This is a great card and well done for recycling some bits and pieces. I 'rescued' ribbons and beady bits and pieces from some crackers (they were on their way into the bin) so I should be able to use them somehow later.
My goodness, this is stunning Anne, so striking. I'll have a look at the challenge as soon as I can, I'm aiming to do every one this year.
It's a beautiful card and what a great idea to use wrapping paper! What a beautiful face you used!
That is an awesome card! I love every little detail!
Beautiful card Anne, I love the backing paper, the embossing and your recycled embellishments.

What a beautiful card Anne. The wrapping paper is gorgeous and much too nice to be thrown in the bin anyway. Your image goes perfectly with it as does the flower and the ribbon. Fabulous

This challenge has left me scratching my head a bit but you've really cracked it! I'm off to rummage in the recycling bins...!
Gorgeous card Anne, so elegant, and the image is beautifully vintage.
Love this card Anne it's so striking! She reminds me of a flapper girl with the script going across her head like a band. Nearly missed this for some reason so sorry for the late comment!
