Vintage Christmas.....

Sorry for the lack of post over the past week but have been spending time with all our grandchildren over the week.  We had a great time at Lyme Regis last Monday and the weather was glorious...Saturday we went to a 1940's steam weekend at Shepton Mallet and we all had a great time there.
So back to crafting now.....I do get withdrawal symptons when not in my craft room..lOl...lOl
Yesterday I spent making a couple of sample cards for Beth from Stamps'N'Craft as she has some gorgeous Vintage papers, stamps, brads, ribbon, lace, glitter and much more from CARTS-US which apparently made by Kars so pop along to Beths shop and have a look.

Two of the samples that I have made.... the first one I've just used papers from the Vintage pack the postcard is from one of the sheets also, and I've just used two stamps, the snowman and the reindeer.  From a little bit of waste paper cut out two snowflakes and added brads.
For the second card I've used more papers and 4 stamps, father Christmas, tree, little bird on holly and the wreath, some of the ribbon and one of the felt snowflakes and added one of the vintage coloured brads. Promarkers have been used  for colouring on both cards.

Thanks for looking.

Less is More challenge...Things that Move...

Our challenge this week over at LIM is things that move....gosh what a choice of images to use for this challenge.
Searching through my transport stamps I came this bike image, dont know where it came from as I have had it for a few years!
Firstly I used my Hero Arts 'Screened Solids' stamp and inked it up using fluid chalks, then stamp the bike onto.  It looked a bit lost on the white card so just added some black behind the image to make it stand out.  Sentiment computer generated.
Have two  of our grandchildren with us tomorrow so we might possibly go down to Lyme Regis for a stroll, hence two posts today!

New Craft shop visit....

On Friday I took myself off to visit the new craft shop that has opened in Yeovil Stamp'N'Craft
had a lovely long chat with Beth (the owner) over a cup of tea and she told me what new stock had come in since my last visit.
Oh joy.... lots and lots of new Penny Black clear stamps...well it would have been rude not to have bought any wouldn't it?
Beth has a brilliant selection of stamps in the shop and amongst them are Joanna Sheens 'Wild Flower' collection and a couple of those just fell into my basket also...lOl..lOl.
My card today is one of the Joanna Sheen stamps I bought, Roses.  Stamped and coloured with Promarkers, Sliced a diagonal section off my card and used the small single rose that is also in the set to stamp a background using a Versamark ink pad. Decided then to have a little play with my alcohol inks to make a border colour to match my image. Senitment is also included in the set.... If you are in the Yeovil area the Stamps'N'Craft is well worth a visit...

Penny Black challenge...week 165

Didn't get to do the PB challenge last week as we've had a busy week....this morning the challenge was the first thing I looked at.  Our challenge this week over at Penny Black is 'Shabby Chic'
Oval cut from Nesties then I've applied some distress ink before stamping my image ' Sparklers' then added some gold glitter on the flower heads which doesn't show up on the post.
Backing paper is called 'Old fashioned floral wheat' from Paper Aventures.
For the band across the middle I've used a Cuttlebub embossing folder then used distress on it before spritzing with Glimmer Mist inks.  Ruffled some lace across the bottom and added some ribbon.  Senitment is from Craftwork Cards, EK success corner punch.

Bah Humbug challenge...

The ladies over at Humbug Hall  have set us another lovely challenge this week for our Bah Humbug challenge and this week its 'Kiss-Mas'.
I'd already got this decoupage cut out and it fits the challenge perfectly, not sure where the decoupage came from though.
Backing paper is from my stash, LOTV sentiment, Martha Stewart punch and the ribbon which matches so well I picked up in a garden centre.
Off into town with my Daughter and children, I promised Grace our youngest grandaughter that as soon as she was dry I would buy her a little present so I guess we will be going into toy shops!..

Less is more....

The girls over at LIM have come up with yet another great challenge 'One layer using inks'.
Not very happy with my card and not only is the colour 'wishy washy' but also my stamp pad I think needs throwing away! Also I need to clean my scanner as it looks like 'dirt' on my card!
I've used Judikins postage frame, inked up the plain rubber from Carole's cube using fluid chalks in pink and blue stamped into the frame then use the Serengeti image from Judikins Safari cube, just added some ribbon to give it a little bit of colour.

Kingfisher...

Do you sometimes get to the stage where your working space on your desk gets so small you just have to clear it all away?  Thats when I found this lovely image from one of Janye Netley Mayhews CD's, these sort of images a also great for mens cards, I have done one for a man which I will post later in the week.
A few months ago in our craft club we played with inks making backgrounds, and the embossed panel on the right is one that I had done, inking and then spritzing with Glimmer Mist before using an embossing folder,  you can get some amazing results just playing around. The inked embossing foler is one of the Cuttlebug folders and the other side is one of the SU folders.
Using the SU Top Note die  mounted my kingfisher image onto it and just added a bit of ribbon and a Martha Stewart butterfly which I've glittered
Entering into the following challenge..

Thanks for stopping by...

Less Is More week 27 Colour

Still trying to catch up with everything this week but found a few mintues to make my card for the Less is More challenge.  Chrissie and Mandi have come up with come great challenges for us all and this one I thought was a very clever idea.
For my card I have used S.U. Real Red card and one of the Marianne Dies  also the butterfly from the Stampin Up 'Strengh and Hope' set that we were given on our Stampin Up day.  Pearls on the back of the butterfly are navy blue but dont show up well in the photograph they look black. The sentiment is also from the same S.U set,the SU eyelet  border punch was also used.

THanks for looking...
