Canasta anyone?....

A commission card I was asked to make was for a man who plays Canasta.....So after scratching my head I remembered I had some paper napkins in my box that had games pieces on it.
Got out the Mod Podge and remembered I had some tiny playing cards that came out of a cracker one Christmas so used those on the Canasta score sheet I was given to use.
I made the pencil from a cocktail stick, rolled in ink and hey presto one pencil.

Tomorrow I'm going to have a go at making some bread following the gorgeous Paul Hollywoods recipe...that man has the most amazing blue eyes......will let you know how it turns out...

Shepton Goodies.

The craft fair at Shepton Mallet yesterday wasn't brilliant, each year there seems to be less and less stalls but still managed to spend a little bit of money but not a lot.

A couple of dies a small stamp and  some stepper cards and some Cosmic glue, also bought other packs of cards for our raffle prizes at Club night.

I did enjoy a little sewing workshop we did making a Celtic design using fusible bias binding which I hadn't seen before and we were aslso taught how to make Suffolk Puffs or Yo Yo's as they call them in America... Obviously only having an hour this is all we had time for so need to finished the project off but will show you when its completed.  I also purchased a mini iron for patchwork and some more lovely binding....

Hopefully I will have a card to show you tomorrow..

Oriental birthday....

Just had time to make this quick card using a pre-printed LOTV image...
I also used papers from one of their 8 x 8 Nitwit  paper pads called 'Promises'.
The lace border is a die from  Cheery lynne border called 'Carnivale'....flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts and the sentiment was computer generated.

I am off to Shepton Mallet craft show tomorrow with friends, I don't have list of crafting goodies to buy as there is nothing I want but I am sure I will come home with things that I 'NEED'.....

Thanks for dropping by....

He's looking at you....

It's been a week since my last post as we have been on holiday down in Devon but it was spoilt by some idiot not paying attention and driving into the back of us....it took a couple of days to sort out and also we had to have our car checked to see whether it was safe for us to tow our caravan home....BUT we are OK thats the main thing.

Have you ever bought a stamp, got it home and thought 'what am I going to do with that'??  Well this is one of those, its a  Papermania Urban Stamp called  'Chronology Looking Glasses' it was my bargain stamp from Trago Mills £2.40..so I just had to buy it.... My lovely friend Val shared some of her Chronology papers with me so I scanned a piece into my Craft Artist programme and changed the colour....

I've added different Distress inks to the background as well as paper pieced some of the clocks in a different colours....just 3D his hands and glasses as I didn't know what else to do!

Its a glorious day here with lots of sunshine and I feel quilty crafting I should be out in the garden...there is always tomorrow...

I am sorry if I haven't visited your blog yet but have been washing and ironing since getting home....

By the Harbour....

Thought it was time I used  this lovely  Harbour image Delicious Doodles which was sitting on my desk waiting to be coloured up.

Image coloured with Copics, backing papers I found in my paper 'bits' box but was ideal to go with the Harbour image.
My lovely friend Val from Aquarius very kindly cut me out some Cogs/Gears from her Tim Holtz die and I thought they would double up at a ships wheel...
Just added the waste circles from the dies to a couple of the corners and then added the anchor....

Craft Club cancelled....

I was hoping to be able to post cards from our club project for this month but some lovely people have stolen the heating oil from our village hall ...so no heating at all in the hall and its certainly far too cold to sit and craft.  Our village has no gas in it at all so oil is our only means of heating apart from electric.... ...is .nothing is safe any more??

One of the project for this months club was making backgrounds using the acetate, tissue and alcohol ink technique so thought I would post a card as a taster and we will now do this project for ur May meeting.

Stamp used is 'Pleasant Poppies' from Stampin Up....Alcohol ink colours used for the backing are Lettuce, Red Pepper & Willow.. For the butterflies I've used the Stampin Up butterfly die and used a piece of card from the backing acetate.. Old Olive ribbon.....

Birthday Boy....

The house is now very quiet with no sound of children's laughter and all the grandchildren have delivered home safely....time to recharge my batteries now!

I think I am like a lot of people and find it difficult to do mens cards but thought this image from Delicious Doodles made a good card for a Son....
I added the sentiment before printing off the image..

The Zebra backing paper I've had for a very long time and if my memory serves me right it came from Lidl's... just added a piece of embossed card along the centre , punched out two strips using SU Window punch and added a couple of brads....
