When we got back from France a had a few little packages waiting for me one one being from LOTV with some of their floral stamps and also more of the lovely 8 x 8 paper pads.
This stamps is Lilac's, coloured with copics and then added glossy accents to the glass jar and lid.
Backing papers are from Nitwits Paper Promiese pad, the lace border die is from Cheery Lynn called 'Border Carnivale', sentiment is from Crafrwork cards.
Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend but sadly the weather doesn't look good for some of us...

Birthday card....
I am back to blogging after having almost a week off, we have been in France for a few days with friends...had a lovely time just a pity the weather wasn't warmer although we did have 3 good days, one day of constant rain and yesterday the rain did clear up in the afternoon.
The image I have used on my card is an old Kanban one, luckily when I first saw these and others I bought quite a few of them and so pleased I did especially as Kanban is no longer trading.
Printed backing paper is also Kanban, I've used and embossing folder on the side and popped some Stampin Up pleased ribbon down the edge.
I've used Crafts Too Entwined cutting and embossing die down the side and also used it for the leaves under my flowers and the die Namics Faux Crochet border die on the top and bottom of my image. Sentiment is from Craftworks cards.
Its now back to the washing and ironing...

Wrinklies....
As I am very busy doing a large card order for our village shop, I usually try and find something a bit different ... I saw this great Wrinklies CD by La Pashe and couldn't resist it. I have made 12 different cards. obviously if the card is for someone you know really well you can put your own sentiment on but these I've kept simple.. here's are two of the cards.
What is it they say...owners look like their dogs??? Such brilliant expressions on their faces...
Don't know what's happening to our weather but it certainly feels like winter has come back...jumpers back on and so is the heating... Wont be long before we have our longest day....

Birthday Boy...
My hubby had a big birthday on Weds a so we celebrated it with all the family yesterday.
My lovely friend Eileen wanted to make the cake which was delicious and I had an idea of what to put on the top. We are into 1940's weekends where we dress up and one of Andy' outfits is a Petty Officers uniform, so I contacted my very talented friend Sarah Pitcher of Character Creations who makes the most amazing toppers from polymer clay and sent a picture of Andy in his uniform and asked to her make me a topper for his cake....
This is Andy....
A close up of Sarah's fabulous work and the finished cake what a great likeness.....even the touch of grey hair around his ears and his glasses
The ribbon around the cake just says Hand Made with love which was very apt considering everything was handmade with love......
Andy was absolutely thrilled and thought the topper was amazing...please go and visit Sarah's webpage...her work is truly fabulous....thank you Sarah.

May Club night....
It was out May club night last night and one of the projects we did was using the Alcohol Inks, tissue paper and Crystal Lacquer technique.. I know I have posted this technique before but thought you might like to see some of the samples that I did using mainly stampin Up stamps...sorry the photographs aren't great as it so dark this afternoon....
Nature walk set.....inks used, Expresso, Red Pepper and Caramel
Papaya Collage set....using the same inks and on the Nature walk set.
Faith in Nature set...inks used, Willow, Lettuce and Butterscotch.
Papillion Potpourri set....Alcohol inks, Cool Perri, Stonewashed and Aqua
PSX stamp... inks used...Bottle, stream, Denim...
This is such an effective technique to do especially if you dont have backing papers and of course you can also add glitter, another lovely effect is to emboss the finished acetate to give it more texture...
Its a really miserable cold and wet afternoon here...where did the sun go??

Simple card...
Firstly thank you all for your lovely comments on Karen's card...I really appreciate them.
Todays card is really simple and one I made a long time ago, I have been suffering from whiplash since our car accident so having to do crafting in small spurts. The Poppy stamp is Asian Poppy from Hampton Art and the sentiment is an old Hero Arts one.
Hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunny weather we are having, makes a change to have a dry Bank Holiday down in the South.

Happy birthday Karen....
Its my friend Karen's birthday today and this is the card I made for her (sorry about the wonky photopragh).
I used Indigo Blu Elizabeth Bennett image which I coloured lightly on her flesh parts and added a soft green background, and a touch of colour on the butterfly... I just 3D the flowers and the little bird.
Papers I used were from LOTV Nitwit Country Lady collection, Stampin UP embossing folder along the centre although you cant see much of it, Spellbinders Lattice frame, sentiment was also LOTV and flowers from Wild Orchid crafts.
Hope you have all been enjoying this glorious weather its certainly far too nice to be in the craft room so just popped up to post Karen's card.
My bread turned out really well but didn't last long...there's nothing like the taste of warm bread, so I will be baking again at the weekend....
