Club Night...Candles

Last Wednesday was our club night and the girls made candles from old books...I like to use really old paper backs for my candles where the pages have gone brown as I think it gives a vintage look.
The two slimmer candles are made using the double spine fold which makes them slim the middle candle is a single spine fold... We used flickering BATTERY candles of course NOT REAL ONES which make them look really effective..I've decorated these all the same as these are also samples for a W I workshop I am doing....
If you want to have a go just go onto UTUBE there are plenty of different book folding techniques..and it is really easy..

Enjoy the rest of your weekend..

Pixies Snippets playground week 250....

Another Christmas card for Pixie's Snippet playground this time I found a little image from Stampin Up Pines & Poinsettia set so mounted it on card   so just added the green background and an odd die cut that was in my box... usually I'm making Christmas cards at the last minute so my pile is growing nicely now...

Stampin UP Christmas Extravaganza Day....

On Saturday we had our Stamping Up Day with the lovely Jenny Moors from Stamping Moments .
Above is one on the cards we made from the Santas Sleigh Set
We were given the Holly Berry Happiness set and this was the first project we made using it a lovely gatefold card and when opened up it  looked like this:

I just loved this card and theres even a space on the left hand side to write your Christmas greeting on...
We then made a cover for a small box of tissues...a really easy thing to make and of course you can decorate with anything...lovely for a birthday gift

For this project we were given a little white box and the acetate belly band sleeve which we covered and then finished off with ribbon and a topper
                                                                 Top of box
Our last project was to use one of the trees from the Forever Evergreen Project Kit but we stamped a background and popped it into a canvas then decorated it with cones and baubles from the Forever Green Stamp set...I popped a star on top of my tree because I dropped my ink pad in the background so used the NOEL die cut to cover it up, well I couldn't put a butterfly on could I??

Thank you Jenny for another great Stmapin Up day and we always come home with lots of inspirational ideas.

Pixies Snippets Playground week 249

I've actually manged to make a couple of small Christmas cards from my snippets box so going to post one of them on Pixies Snippets playground
Theres are very small cards 4 3/4" x 4 3/4". I've used one of my Scribble Circles die from Papertrey Ink added a very small poinsettia, sprig of greenery and added liquid pearls.
For second card I just added a small poinsettia and some tiny punched flowers and bits from a holly die... I think I will be sending quite a few small cards this year as I certainly need to use up lots of snippets..

Christmas cards..1,2,3 & 4

I have four Christmas cards to show you today....When I got my last two Stampin up orders from my friend Jill of Jill stamps up  she very kindly gave me a little 'thank you' envelope and inside were these lovely images the little owl is from the Hostess set Cozy Critters and the reindeer, Santa and ginger breadman from the Cookie Cutter set.
My box with the Christmas snippets of paper and die cuts is pretty full so decided to make small 5 x 5 cards so I could use up some of my festive papers...
The little owl branch is an old Marianne die and the little robin I made is from the little bird in the Thoughtful Branches set (which I have yet to use)....

Love the little reindeer just coloured his antlers and a little bit of glossy accents on his red nose...
Little little Santa fits nicely in a round die cut and made a lovely little bauble card.
This little gingerbread made is really cute...I even used the little blue envelope that my little images came in its the blue backing behind the gingerbread man...
Four more little Christmas cards for my Christmas card pile...

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thank you for stopping by.
