By the water...,,,

Just love this Wetlands set from Stampin Up thought it would be a very versatile little stamp set.

I've added some pale blue ink to create the sky and water and then some So Saffron for the beach..I have 3d the large bird....I've used Sue Wilsons Basket Weave embossing folder for the background, a little bit of twine and a button...
the sentiment has come out a little dark in the photo but the sentiment is also from the Wetlands set...

Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree...

Most of my Christmas cards this year and going to be simple and quite flat so they can go 2nd class post so when I saw this little 'Freebie' Christmas Tree die on a craft magazine I thought it would be nice to use on one of my cards.

The card it only 5 x 5 so the Mexican Tile die fitted nicely, just used a back mat behind the die, cut out my Christmas tree in glitter card and put on a black mat,  added a few red pearls and that was my card finished...very quick and simple....

Stampin Up Extravaganza day.....

We had a fabulous day yesterday yesterday with Jenny and made lots of lovely things...

Loved this big box we decorated and also loved the colours that Jenny has chosen...
We made 3 little cards to go into the little sqaure box that we decorated.
The band around the box actually slides off so you can open the box.

We had a choice of making the gift box like this or we could stand it on end and punch a hole through the top and this actually takes a small bottle of wine which is such a lovely idea....I will be making more of these.

                                           *********
My lovely daughter Sally made us some beautiful cup cakes....and if you look closely at the ones with the mauve tops she has put the name of our craft group 'Crafty Bunch' on the icing, needless to say these didn't stay on the table for long...thank Sally they were delicious....

Its a miserable morning here in Somerset, we've had some heavy rain and its windy...so think I will craft again today...not that I need an excuse....

Vintage birds....

I was lucky enough to win some blog candy from Marianne and amongst the candy was this lovely stamp from Inkylicious called Vintage Birds.

I've made this card with a man in mind  so no added flowers or ribbons.  The backing paper is from Crate Paper which I have had for a long time...the reverse is a plain colour so was able to using it for layering.
Leaves are Memory Box Fresh Foiliage..bird cage and birds also from Memory Box...
I always have problems using silicone, hence the little bird sat on the leaf on the top left hand corner...dropped my cocktail stick with silicone on it...still at least he matches the two little birds in the cage..... just noticed that my photo is  wonkey as well...hey ho....

Walker baby girl....

My daughter asked me for a card for her friends little girl who will be 1 soon so I used this lovely image from Mo Manning called 'Walker'.
Coloured the image with copic pens, mounted onto Nesties, just added some pink and white gathered ribbon around the the circles.
Backing papers are from my stash and were odd sheets so I am afraid I can't tell you where they came from.  The border punch is one from Cheery Lynn called 'Carnivale'...corners are Quickuz which unfortunately are now discountinued.

It was raining had this morning but this afternoon has been lovely and it quite warm..

Enjoy your weekedn whatever you are doing

Club night...Playing with paperbacks...

Tonight we did something different  in our craft club instead of making cards  we made angels and Christmas trees from old paper backs...and some used old Magazines...

For these projects all need it 150 pages and if you have a thicker paperback you should be able to make both an Angel and a Christmas Tree.

First the ladies painted the polystrene balls in either white or gold...I actually sprayed mine after giving it coat of white Acrylic paint, if you spray straight onto the ball then a lot of spray paints actually eat into the polystyrene ball so you need a coat of Acrylic paint first.
After folding the pages I then used a glitter spray straight onto the the paper back pages...I just added a small ruff around the neck of my angels, one I used a page from the book the other I gathered a piece of ribbon.
If you would like to have a go here is the link for the instructions Paperback Angels

Wedding Card...

Still trying to top up my Wedding card box before my craft fair....without putting cards in a box its very difficult to put embellishments on a card that aren't too bulky....have tried to keep this one simple and it fits nicely into an A5 envelope without too much bulk.

Using Marianne dies for the main centre images, the silver leaves are from Crafts Too...the backing sentiments I've had for a long time so cant tell you where they came from...Spellbinders borders along the bottom...

Its tidy up the craft room day today...so no card making..
The weathers still lovely down here in Somerset but not sure for how long.
