Bah Humbug challenge...

This weeks Bah Humbug challenge is 'Oldie but Goldie'...
The stamp I have used this week is dated 2002 and has been used many times in the past as I think its quite a versatile stamp for either Christmas and it also makes a great a mans card.  Serendipity Stamps still have this stamp on their website and its just called 'Buck'.
Having brayered the background using Big and Juicy Waterfall stamp pad I then stamped the image using Black Archival ink Pad. The birds are again and old stamp but dont know who its made by. Added a little bit of 'Aileens Glitter snow' on the image.  Although you cant see much of it I've also used a Mistloe embossing folder that was in my 'Christmas prize box from B.H) its lovely because it's 5 x 7.  Added the M.S. picket fence across the back.

Autumn Trees.... Not a total disaster!

When making my card for the Bah Humbug challenge I also did a second stencil which I decided I would do with gold leafing.  When putting the stencil back over the embossing paste after it had dried I needed now to paint on the glue and then add the gold leaf.  When taking off the stencil I  didn't realise that the glue had gone under the template!  The gold leaf was now where it shouldn't be on the black part of the card. So....thinking head on I got out my black copic pen and went over it.....yippee it worked.  Then when trimming down my card not only did I cut the image too short I had also taken off some of the gold leafing, by this time I was ready to put the whole lot in the bin, then another brainwave why not use my Krylon gold leafing pen to touch up the areas of gold leaf that had been damaged when trimming my card.  So now my image didn't look too bad so decided to actually make a card with it.
Backing paper is Basic Grey 'Mellow.

LOTV....

My new LOTV stamps arrived yesterday, all their new designs were gorgeous and I had a such a problem when deciding which ones to buy.   Just loved this design and I've just noticed that I can enter my card into two challenges.  The first one being LOTV Things with Wings and also The Ribbon Girls challenge Pink and Green.
The image was colour using pencils, mounted into nesties and also Martha Stewart Cherish punches.  Backing papers are from Papermania Rose Garden, ribbon is from S.U.
TO finish off my card I'ves used the Nellie Snellen flower and emboss punches along with their lovelt leaf punch.

Club night........ Lace glittering

Tonight is club night and I am doing a lace glittering project with the ladies and thought you might like to see a couple of samples.
For those of you who dont know what lace glittering is I will explain. You take a piece of lace whether it be border or shaped (i.e. fan) place some sticky tape down onto a piece of card but make sure it's large enough to cover the piece of lace. Select two contrasting colours of glittler or you can use one glitter and fine sand like Sandy Art. Place you lace onto the sticky tape press down really well as you dont want your first colour of glitter to go under the lace, place your first colour on the top press down well and shake off excess glitter. Now PEEL OFF your lace this now leaves you with a sticky area where your lace has been you then apply your second colour again pressing it down well before shaking off excess.
The two card above, the lilac one I've used some pretty border lace, and punched out trellis using Martha Stewart punch. The green card is a piece of 'fan shaped' lace cut from a piece of NET CURTAIN but done is just the same way. This is so pretty when its done and a lot of people actually think the lace is STILL on the card.
Hope this all makes sense!!

Bah Humbug Challenge...

It's so nice to have the Bah Humbug challenge back this week. This week has not been a good one for me as my crafting friend of 15 years passed away on Thursday. The challenge has made me come back into my craft room although my MOJO seems to have gone I have actually sat down and made a card.
Our challenge for this week is Holly and Fairies. The image this week is one of LOTV die images. Backing paper is papermania. Martha Stewart punch used along the side and I have used 2 3D Border Glitterations strips by Anita's that were in my lovely prize box that was lucky enough to win at the end of the 2010 BH challenge.
Sentiment is also LOTV. No one said the holly had to be green so I've used a Quickutz holly die but have used white card then punched out tiny circles from glitter paper using a small S.U. circle punch.
