Crafty Bunch project......

We had our last Crafty Bunch meeting on Wednesday for this year  so we did a small project which was the Mars Bar snowmen... For a change the girls did a bit of sewing rather than card making.   The image I found on the internet...instead of buying felt I bought a Red throw from Tesco's (they come in other colours) as the throw was much softer to stitch than felt, we cut a piece 6" x 2" just stitched down the length turned it inside out popped it onto our covered Mar Bar, gathered up where we wanted to have the thread with the bells on, then cut down from the top to make the fringes on his hat...so simple and so quick.  You can do this with any size bar of chocolate, one of our ladies suggested putting onto a Wine bottle which was a clever idea.
After our little bit of sewing we then all tucked into some lovely Christmas food....

I wont be posting again now until Monday as we have 3 grandchildren staying tomorrow because we are off see the Pantomime in Yeovil, "OH YES WE ARE"....and afterwards we will take them out to eat before playing games tomorrow night...think we will need a rest Sunday evening after we have delivered them all back home...lOl...lOl..

Thanks for looking

A very lucky Birthday girl.......

Well its my birthday today and I have been thoroughly spoilt.....the flowers above arrived from my lovely Brother and SIL.....gorgeous colours and the flowers smell wonderful. I've had some fabulous handcrafted cards so thank you to all my friends for those...
Andy really spoilt me not only did I have an iPAD2 but also and iPOD touch and I didn't have a clue that I was getting either, so now I can sit listening to music while using my iPad...lOl...lOl...how sad it that????
I had wanted also to go to IKEA....well what an experience that was!  Not sure I want to go back in a hurry but I need to get some new furniture so that I can re-arrange my craft room when I've had my big 'sort out'.
Had some lovely presents from family and friends....
Off now to check your lovely blogs...hopefully tomorrow I will have a card to post at some point...

Penny Black Saturday Challenge....week179

Another great challenge from the Penny Black team and this week its 'Christmas + Red + Embossing'.  When I ordered this stamp Stapstick stamp called 'Sweet Snowman' I didn't realize just how big it would be but you know what they say 'Big is Beautiful' and he certainly is a lovely snowman.
Stamped and coloured with Copics, I've used a Crafts Too dotty embossing folder to mount him on. I've also embossed the sentiment. Backing paper is from SU and also added a few Card Candy...
I am now waiting the arrival of 2 grandchildren plus a dog as we are babysitting until tomorrow...might do some crafting with the children this afternoon if they want to make some Christmas cards...

Beside the seaside.....

Its a bit nippy this moring and we woke up to the first frost but I don't mind the cold its the rain and wind I hate...
This image is one of Faye Whittaker's which is gorgeous and I have made a  very simple card with it.  The image was stamped onto watercolour paper and painted using  markers pens I actually cut the image down a little bit and also cut off the bucket and spade to use as a separate stamp.
Backing papers are all from Stampin Up, SU corner punches also used along with SU lattice square embossing folder and then two buttons added to finish the card off.

Thanks for lookings

Bah Humbug Challenge...45

Well its been almost another week since my last post but now I have finally finished all my commission cards so my time is my own once again.....until the next one!
This week the girls over at Bah Humbug have set us another lovely challenge, this week is a box or a bag..
Last year I made lots of these little boxes which are so easy and quick to make then I filled them with chocolates and sold lots of them at  my craft fair so thought I would make one for this challenge.
The red card has a lovely bauble pattern on it but its so hard to photograph especially as the light is starting to go..  I've used another one of my new Memory Box dies and also I have used the large Marianne poinsettia die which I love, its so quick and easy to do.
Hopefully I will have another card to post tomorrow...

Bah Humbug challenge...

No I haven't left the country just had a really busy week, poorly grandchildren, commission cards to make plus everyday chores!  I have missed so many challenges recently but hopefully after Wednesday this week life should be less hetic!
Yesterday we had a Stampin Up Extravaganza day with Jenny from Stamping Moments just pop over to her blog and see what we made....It was a fabulous day everyone went home with so many projects and a fantastic stamp set....I am trying to organize another day in February so keep a look out on my blog for details.
Another lovely challenge from the girls over at Bah Humbug this week and our challenge is 'Baby's first Christmas'.
I've used a couple of the stamps from P.B. Jolly Friends sheet, you cant see the pale pink snowflakes on the white paper but they are there!  Image coloured with Copics, paper is from a Freebie pack that I had, I've also used one of my new Memory Box dies and a SU punch along the bottom.

Penny Black challenge...week 176

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past week but we had 3 days away down in Devon which was lovely...when we got back I needed to make cards and little gifts for my craft fair which was yesterday so just had no time at all to blog....
Back to the Penny Black challenge which this week is 'Christmas/Snowflakes snow and Silver' I am not very happy with my card as it looks dirty!! I edged the glittered snowflake vellum with a Brilliance Silver pad and for some reason it looks a bit vintage around the edge...but also the light is so bad today, my image is one of my favourite snowmen from the Penny Black 'Jolly Friends' stamp sheet, he's coloured with copics.  Dies used are Nestie and Cuttlebug Snowflake.  S.U. Punches also used and I added 3 little pearls for the mistletoe berries.
This is also another busy week for me but hopefully I shall be back with another card tomorrow....fingers crossed.

Well another month has passed by and its time for another Challenge over at St Lukes Charity Card challenge and our challenge for you this month is called 'DECK THE HALLS'....this means any kind of Christmas card, any design and any theme.
For my card I have used a Penny Black stamp called 'Xmas Light'.  The candle actually looks crooked but I have checked the stamp and thats how it is!!
Stamped my image with S.U. Real Red ink and them just drawn the colour down into the image and then sponged lightly around the edge of the image.
Cuttlebugs Mistletoe embossing folder has been used to mount the image. Punches used are Nellie Snellin fower punch, S.U. oval, label, window punch and the leaves from a MaGill punch.
Lili of the Valley  have very kindly sponsored us this month and all you have to do to be in with a chance to these two fabulous stamps is to join in our challenge....

Less is More.....

Our challenge this week over at LIM is stars......I've used one of my X-cut star dies...I coloured some card blue using duster brushes and then stamped my image which is a stamp that I have had for years its an unmounted one so I don't know where it came from. Using my Crafts Too embossing folder for the background.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp called 'Twinkle Border'.

A set of wheels....

Mens cards are always difficult to make and also we always end up with colours in our paper stash that we dont use very often so I have combined the two together!
This lovely motorcycle stamp is one from S.U just stamped onto Kraft card and a little bit of colour added, backing papers are also S.U.. The stamp used underneath the motorcyle is called 'Field of  sky' and is a brilliant stamp for filling in empty spaces.  I was also lucky enough to get this retired S.U. cog punch with I think goes well with this stamp as I remember when my DH used to have his motorcycle in bits there were cogs laying around!
Lets hope this glorious sunshine we have today lasts over the week end....so enjoy it.

Thanks for popping by

S.U. corner punch also used.

Young Vermillion

A couple of weeks ago Jenny Moors (stamping Moments) our lovely Stampin Up friend came to our club and showed us some of the new products from Stampin Up.
This little bird just took my fancy he's called Young Vermillion and although the vermillion is red in colour you can colour him in any colour.  For this image I did use red and although I didn't set out to make a Christmas card it's sort of ended up looking like one although at the moment there's no Christmas message on him!
Coloured with Copics, and then mounted onto one of the new S.U. Textured Impressions Embossing folders. The sentiment wording is S.U. 'En Francais background ' stamp and I've also used another S.U. embossing folder called 'Finial Press', Su border punch and some vintage seam binding.

THanks for looking.

The girls over at LIM have come up with yet another great challenge and this week its POLKA DOTS.
Stamp used is one by Impression Obsession and us just called 'Evening Gown', stamped onto some SU designer paper.  I ran my card through my Bigshot using the circles embossing folder, found a flower just add a few dots to it.  The border is my new punch from S.U.
I don't have a lot of time to craft this week as its half term and of course we shall be seeing  our grandchildren and also want to try and do some more Christmas shopping I just hate shopping in crowds.

Stamp'N'Craft.....

Today I popped down to StampNcraft our new craft shop in Yeovil I spotted that Beth has some lovely new stamps in by KARS and although the stamps are quite small they are gorgeous so they just happened to fall into my basket.
Just had to have a little play when I got home, using ordinary paper, duster brushes and my Distress inks I ended making a little scene.  The stamps I used are called, Birds on a Branch,
3 Branch with leaves and Grass in bloom.  I am no Barabra Gray but was quite happy with what I had produced..
Dont forget that Joanna Sheen will be visiting StampsNcraft on Saturday so why not pop down....

Less is More.. week 37

It's so good to be back in blogland......you don't realize how much you reply on your computer when you haven't got it and sadly I couldn't comment on a lot of your blogs..
My DH managed to save most of my files from my old PC and although we had a few teething problems my new computer is up and running.....
Back to my card... Chrissie and Mandi over at LIM have given us another great challenge this time it's COCKTAIL but as you can see from my card I didn't have a stamp with and cocktail glasses on and didn't want to just download an image so thinking outside of the box as we have been asked to do I found this lovely Rubber Stampede stamp that hadn't seen the light of day for a long time.  Just coloured my image with copics and sponged the background and added some extra feathers to my cockerel.
Strangely enough the Cockerel is our village emblem..

Set  Polka Dot punches and just gone around the edge of the sqaure with a fine pen.  Sentiment was printed straight onto the card and just added 3 tiny gems...

Off to do a bit of Christmas shopping this morning....I know I shouldn't really mention the 'C' word but you have to start sometime and I hate trying to push through crowds...

Penny Black challenge - week 172

Its so nice to get back into my crafting after having a week off helping out my daughter, thankfully her broken foot is healing well and she is now walking without a crutch....
Just finding it very difficult to get my mojo working again after not crafting for a whole week so for this weeks Penny Black challenge which is 'Age is just a number' I have used one of PB Stickeroos which I have glittered to give it a bit of sparkle.
All card is S.U and so is the border punch and the embossing folder, cuttlebug flower die used with the computer generated sentiment.
Right off to find some inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by...

Penny Black Challenge Week 171

This weeks Penny Black challenge is called 'Down on the Farm so I have used this stamp called  'To you'.  Coloured with copic pens and I have 'spot lighted' the cows head. Backing papers are from Basic Grey 'Lauderale' pad.  Corner are punched from a Corner Adorner punch.
Sorry for not blogging much last week but it was a bit hectic doing samples for a workshop on Saturday and then at the end of the week my eldest daughter broke a bone in her foot  so I've been helping out as she has a 13month old who's not walking yet and a 3 year old so its impossible to lift a baby while on crutches! Dont think I will get much time this week to blog but will do my best. Also sorry if I missed leaving a comment on your blog.

Less is More - Week 34

LIM challenge  is a card plan this week with the image on the top left hand side and sentiment on the right hand corner.
I needed to make a 'thank you' card so thought card would be fit this weeks challenge.
Image stamped from S.U. 'Just Believe' set and rather than put a sentiment across the stamped image I've placed some tiny punched out flowers with pearl centres.  Sentiment is computer generated.

My craft room is in great need of a tidy up so thats my job for this morning....where's that 'tidy up' fairy when you need her??

Promise not to laugh - My efforts....

We have a really fun morning yesterday in our FIMO workshop the lovely Sarah from Character Creations came and tried to teach 10 of us how to make these little characters and also a loaf of bread, I managed also to make a cottage loaf with left over clay.
Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera so all I have to show you is mine.  Well they aren't exactly wonderful but at least I have had a go and we all had a lots of laughs along the way.  My Christmas fell apart as it was going in the oven but I thought I would still show you.  My cat looks as thought he has an absess as his whiskers are too big and his head lobsided, my bears head and paws are also  too big but the gingerbread man and snowman I am quite happy with.... We shall be doing another workshop next year and next time will take my camera...

Sarah's work is amazing please pop to her website and have a look, she has made a wedding cake topper for one of my daughters and also two Christening cake toppers, on the wedding topper she copied my daughters wedding dress and her husbands waistcoat they even looked like them and the same with the christening toppers....Sarah is such a clever lady...

Winters Tale........

Just love this stamp set from Andy Skinner its called ' Winters Tale'  you get 9 different stamps in the set but also of course it doesn't have to be winter scene.
I've only used 7 stamps from the set on this card.  Stamped onto kraft card with Versafine then coloured with pencils, I only used 2 pencils white and brown, I then highlighted areas where the snow would be heavier with a white gel pen....I've made other cards like this but have varied the design. The only thing I'm not sure about is the where the sentiment is?
Thanks for popping by...

Less is More....week 32

This weeks challenge for LIM is 'one layer - seeing double' which I thought was a great challenge.
I've used two stamps for this challenge the flower one is a S.U. stamp from the  ' Touch of nature set' and the sentiment is from S.U. 'Because I care' set.
Sponged an oval background with distress inks, inked up the flowers using marker pens and stamped then added the sentiment.
