Stampin Up Christmas Extravaganza day...

What a fabulous day I had yesterday at Jenny's (stamping  moments)Stampin Up  Christmas Extravaganza day....we made some great projects and my favourite one was this beautiful framed scene we created  from the Hometown Greetings thinlits set  we also added some LED lights which turned it into a fabulous night scene...
This picture of the LED lights on isn't very good as I took it today in my craftroom when it was light...but you can see the effect its gorgeous and I certainly want to make more...

We also made a selection of cards using the Merry Mistletoe set which we were given...
Lovely winter scene using trees from the set and some beautiful glitter card
I really enjoyed making this clothes peg wreath and found it very relaxing sticking all the DSP on (both sides) ..and it means if I make another one I can use up all my odd bits of Christmas DSP...we added the reindeer from our Merry Mistletoe set....
Just loved Christmas card using more of the SU thinlit dies.....I'm afraid I was tempted and did give in to buying the Hometown greetings thinlits set...

This was the lovely table give we all had....

Sorry my photographs aren't that good but I took them on my mobile phone  wanted to share them with you today....
Thank you Jenny for giving us such a great crafting day once again...

Thinking of you....

Hello crafty friends ....It's been a while since my last post...we've been away and also I've just been really busy no time for crafting but I needed to made a really quick card for a male neighbour who is very poorly at the moment...a very difficult card to make so I've just kept it very simple using a Hunkydory topper and just added the ivy die to take the plainess off, sorry about the awful photograph but it was a card that needed to be made very quickly and it was something to post of my blog!

I've got a craft fair in a couple of weeks so I must try and make a few more things for that...I'm busy sewing advent calendars at the moment.

I do try a pop along a look at your blogs in the evenings but apologies for my blogging friends who I haven't visited for a while... Once November is over things should quiten down...then I need to make crack on with some Christmas cards...talk about leaving it to the last minute...

Cookie Cutter Christmas...

I am still trying to be good and getting rid of some of my crafty bits (which I have done!)...but I have a lot of small bits of DSP and card so when I recently had a SU party I bought the Cookie Cutter Christmas set which is ideal to pop onto small cards...
I've only managed to make a couple of cards this afternoon but thats a start...thought I would give some of these small cards to my grandchildren to give their friends at Christmas..I am sure they would also like to make some of these cards themselves..

Thanks for stopping by..

Parchment and Groovi...

A few friends and I got together for a 'play day' with Groovi plates and this is one I managed to complete with the help of my friend Janet on the gridwork...its not perfect t but I'm ok with the results...its just practice... the problem is when you have more than one hobby its making time for all of them...but stamping is still my first love...

This card is going to a lady who is about to celebrate her 50th birthday... oh I wish!...

Hope you have a great weekend whatever you are doing.

Mixed Media Workshop with Janie Burnett-Bleach

Five of us did a brilliant workshop with the very talented Janie Burnett-Bleach yesterday who also designs stamps for Hobby Art....
None of us had done anything like this before but thoroughly enjoyed learning.
I was quite happy with my finshied Canvas ...the design is not mine but Janies..three of us did the same, Jill did a beautiful canvas using the Dandilion stamps and Val  used the Dragonfly stamps  ..Janet and Eileen had just needed to  finish off theirs at home.... can't wait to do another workshop.
I'm not happy with the colours on my bird but I want to do another canvas using this stamp set which is called Nature Reserve (Hobby Art) designed by Janie..I also added a few small bits of gilding flakes in a couple of places in the background.  Off to Hobbycraft to buy some Acrylics....

September craft club meeting...

This month we played with Brusho's and some Pixie Powders...we only touched on the simple ways to use them e.i. backgrounds, using die cuts etc.  This little S U black cat was given to me by my friend Jill...it looked purrrrect on my card.
I found a piece of stamped leaves in my scrap box so I got some inks and tried to do Autumn colours...I only needed to die cut a couple of leaves to use in the corners

This card was very quick just cut out a butterfly and corners and again found a snippet of DSP which matched perfectly.

These lovely dies I cut out at when visiting my lovely friend Gill when we were on holiday last week...just added a few few birds and a pale moon.

This I think is my favourite card ...my friend Gill very kindly cut the peacock out for me and all I had to do was to 'make' some peacock colours using my brusho's and as the inks so such a long way I also had enough to cut out come leaves and flowers as well...
I would like to revisit brusho's in club next year and try using stencils and texture on backgrounds.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend...

Relax......

Back to a stamping....this stamped  image is from a very very old stamp that I no longer have but I do know the company that made it vanished many years ago but someone out there may well recognize it the stamps were quite large.
Perfect for a masculine card I've it coloured with copics and I found a scrap strip of a punched border from an old SU border punch...

Trainee patchworker...

My youngest granddaughter Grace who is 9 years old just loves anything crafty including sewing but she had never used a sewing machine before so we spent a lovely day together and I taught Grace how to use my sewing machine.
The first thing we did was to make a simple drawstring bag and we cut out flower shapes of fabric with a couple of my craft dies and this was the result.
All I've done is to actually cut the fabric out for her....
Grace then decided she would like to have a go at simple quilting so we found some scraps of fabric, Grace decided on the design and away she went...all I did on this piece of work was to tack the binding on for her as she kept pricking her finger on the sharp pins!
Its all Grace's own work, ok a little wobble on the binding edge but as you can see she was so happy with her quilt....I think Father Christmas might just bring her a sewing box with some fabric in.... I think its such a joy that she wants to learn to sew and knit,  my mum taught me when I was very young which enabled me to make my daughters clothes.

Thanks for stopping by ...

Self Closing Boxes

It was our club meeting on Wednesday evening and we made self closing boxes...I found these on Ann's Happy Stampers blog,

The girls made both sizes, the small ones are lovely for Christmas as you can put things like a nail polish, lipstick and small bits of jewellery.
We also used ribbon, mini magnets and velcro dots to close them....

Off to see the grandchildren now...

Hunkydory garden........

This card should have scheduled last week whilst we were away but someone forgot to 'publish' it so it didn't!

Not a brilliant photograph of this Hunkydory image but it does look mcuh better in the 'flesh'.... the border frame is from Spellninders and I found a little hose pipe and a trowel embellishment in my embellishments box which I popped on...just added some foliage and flowers (just seen that I've forgotten to give the flowers a centre) and my card was finished.

I will try and catch up on your blogs at somepoint over the next couple of days...

Club Night - Groovi plate

Tonight is our monthly craft club meeting and the girls will be making a parchment card using one of the Groovi plate images, this plate is Tina's Florals and Corners 2... the girls can 3D the flowers if they wish...these are my sample cards.
Amazing how different colours change the look of your card
I really enjoyed making these samples so much so  I have already ordered a Groovi plate to make a start on my Christmas cards.....

Groovy baby....

Its been just over a week since my last post but we have managed to have a few days away making the most of the beautiful weather we have been having.

Its our club night next Wednesday and my friend Janet is doing a parchment project with the girls using one of the Clarity Groovy plates.

Janet very kindly let me trace some of her plates and this is what I've been playing with for the past couple of days.  How easy these plates make parchment now not like years ago using the white pencil to trace your designs.

This design isn't the one the girls are going to be doing but I'll post my samples on Wednesday morning for you to have a look at....I do believe I'm a little bit hooked...

Thanks to looking

Delicate Asters...

I just love the Heartfelt Creations stamps and papers....for this card I have used solely the papers.  Cut out and 3D an Aster flower and then added a glittered butterfly.  I can't remember where the sentiment came from as I've had it for a long time but I'm sure someone out there will be able to tell me.

Thanks for stopping by

Masculine card...

Its a couple of weeks since my last post but I've been unwell and then the hot weather came and it was just too hot in my craft room....but I've made a quick masculine card... the image is one from Hunkydorys Mens pads so just added an embossed background a couple of cog dies and a sentiment and my card was made.

Today is a lovely temperature so I can once again enter my craft room without melting, I know we complain about the weather but I think a lot of people found it just a little bit too hot...

Hopefully I'll try and catch up on some of your blogs over the weekend...
